I’ve been searching for you and now I’ve found you in the company of this whore.

I’ve been hoping for you but now I’ll hope for you, and I’ll pray for you, no more.

In my life, you have been more than a passing or casual influence on me.

You crashed through the walls where my defenses lie, but I won’t build no bridge to ease your pain.

I know where your weakness lies, you’ve failed in your attempt to cause me pain.

In my life you have been more than a passing or casual influence on me.

You were the one that I looked to for love, but how can I pretend to feel more than I do?

In my life you have been more than a passing or casual Influence on me.

I’ve been searching for you, and now I’ve found you in the company of thissss ...

Now that I know where your weakness lies, you can suck your tears and you can take everything that’s yours.

The moonlight lays a path upon the sea that takes you sailing far away. You know exactly what I mean. You’ve seen the same things that I’ve seen.

And when you go I will be here for you.

For when you go I must remain.

You know exactly how I feel.

You know my love for you is real.

So sail away into a bright new day.

Sail into your life so far away. And when you go I will be here for you. I will be here.

And when the moon is shining in the sky,

you will see me on the other side. The moon will light your face for me

reflecting everything I see.

And I will go down to the water’s edge

and touch the ocean with my hand.

And if you do the same as me, we’ll be united by the sea.

So sail away into a bright new day.

Sail into your life so far away. And when you go I will be here for you. I will be here.

So sail away into a bright new day.

Sail into your life so far away. And I know that it can never be, but I will be here.

Dance of a North Sea Wind

(Acoustic demo)

So now, will you make me go, or will you let me stay? You know I value what you say.

Maybe it’s wise that we should part, before we go too far? The only risk is bitterness.

And if you find that you need to come to me, don’t hold back out of fear. I’ll always try to be your strength in times of need, and I will share in your tears.

So now, will you make me go, or will you let me stay? You know I value what you say.

I’ve been trying for so long to make you understand that I don’t mean to hurt you.

I think I’ve found the direction that I lacked till now I’ve lived out of fear.

And I know you would agree when I say

this strength is long overdue.

So now, will you make me go?

You know I value what you say.

Dance of a North Sea Wind

Dance of a North Sea Wind

Dance of a North Sea Wind

(Acoustic demo)

No sea was ever so rough

as the sea where my dad lived.

The sandwich-layered cliffs grew high

and the fishermen grew tough.

And the north sea wind would blast my face like a furnace on the Tees.

No cliff was ever so high

as the cliffs that saw me born.

As dismayed lovers slid the shale

to plunge so bludgeoned die.

And the span that stood a hundred years

fell crippled to its knees.

No place was ever so sad

as the place I played so young.

Chasing branches down the stream

towards the mighty crashing foam.

The north sea wind would kiss my face

and then fold into a breeze.

No sea was ever so rough,

no cliff was ever so high,

no place was ever so sad

as the place where my dad died.

Yes the north sea wind I know you cried

but I don't think you really cared.

In The Mountains

Dance of a North Sea Wind

In The Mountains

(Acoustic demo)

In the mountains of a foreign land,

I saw you and felt your hand. I remember you touched my face and set my soul on fire, raising my spirit’s smile higher and higher.

In the mountains I saw you there. Sensed your presence, sweet, upon the air.

Though I could never claim to know your shape or form, I still could not deny that sense of inner warmth. In the mountains.

In the mountains.

When a conspiracy of storm clouds threaten a summer’s day, how can the sun be blamed for hiding away?

In the mountains I saw you there. Sensed your presence, sweet, upon the air. I remember you touched my face, set my soul on fire, raising my spirit’s smile higher and higher.

In the mountains, I saw you there.

And to say that man created ‘god’ is not the same as to disbelieve in 'The Supreme'.

In the mountains of a foreign land,

I saw you and felt your hand. I remember you touched my face and set my soul on fire, raising my spirit’s smile higher and higher.

In the mountains I saw you there. Sensed your presence, sweet, upon the air.

I remember you touched my face and set my soul on fire, raising my spirit’s smile higher and higher.

Songlines

Dance of a North Sea Wind

In The Mountains

(Acoustic demo)

Sometimes I look in your eyes

Sometimes I look in your eyes

Sometimes I look in your eyes

and find myself.

And when you walk away, I feel that you’re abandoning me. I’m scared that you may never be close to me, my love.

Sometimes I look in your eyes

Sometimes I look in your eyes

Sometimes I look in your eyes

and find myself.

I’ve been pacing the song lines

And I’ve been diving for pearls.

But all I found was the vacant stare of your face in a mirroring of my world.

Sometimes I look in your eyes

Sometimes I look in your eyes

Sometimes I look in your eyes

and find myself.

Myself.

Sound of Summer **

Little Piece of England

Little Piece of England

(Acoustic demo)

Why are you giving me the finger, while telling me there’s a thousand kinds of finger?

Why are you calling out my name, while telling me there’s a million other names?

Why?

Take the left, take the right, the secrets and the lies. Take the left, take the right, it’s where the future lies.

But then I wonder was I wrong?

The sound of summer’s gone away now.

So come on, hit me once again. You keep me hurting, keep in me lying on the floor.

You said “the writing’s on the wall”.

I can’t erase 'cos I never was that tall.

Why?

Little Piece of England

(Acoustic demo)

Back in my infancy you must have caused me pain.

If I’d been born adult I might have staked a claim.

But in my helplessness you came, and you took everything I owned.

So give me back my little piece of England that you took when I was small.

Give me space to be myself free from fiscal laws.

If I’d been born in the stars, I’d be king of my native soil.
